Wide Scope Emblem

ASSIGNMENT 5: ‘THE WIDE EMBLEM’

Design an emblem that evokes the look and feel of
your mystory.’

EXERCISE 20: PATTERNING
‘Review the documentation recorded in the previous assignments and make links connecting any signifiers that repeat between any two (or more) registers.’
Computers are the obvious answer again, they have been a massively reoccurring theme in my life and have shaped the person that I am today.

EXERCISE 21: AUTOMATIC EMBLEM
‘Your selections should be made arbitrarily, but use something from one of your mystory discourses. Choose a material object from Family, Entertainment, or History, and assign to it a title of an important text in your Career discourse. Document the object with photographs and detailed descriptions of its features.’

EXERCISE 22: PERSONALS
‘Make an emblem representing a personal idea of happiness or well-being.’
I love this image, the soft glow of electronic light, the familiarity of neon letters... so simple and so right. I didn't make this one, just found it, but the gradient on the brick wall does it well... I think I'll use similar elements to that in the future of my designs.
